Western Line Builders Inc. is a power line contractor that has been in business for over five decades. The company was incorporated in 1978 as Lutes Construction. In 1986 Dennis Bell, Roger Bell, and Fred Oliver purchased Lutes Construction and formed what is now Western Line Builders, Inc. Kevin J. Smith purchased company stock, replacing Roger Bell as Vice President in 1996 and then replacing Dennis Bell as President in 2010. In 2017 Jeremey Reinke and Matt King purchased company stock and took over as Superintendent and Vice President. Jermey Reinke sadly passed away in 2024. Kevin Smith retired in 2025 leaving Matt King to take over as president. Management and employees have changed but one thing has stayed the same throughout the years, Western Line Builders is still a family owned enterprise that is wonderful to work for and great to do business with.

Western Line Builders is a licensed and bonded power line contactor with credentials to work in Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. We have long running relationships with power companies and private customers such as: Mohave Electric, Powder River Power, Vigilante Electric, Wells Rural Electric, Idaho Power, San Miguel Power Association, Nevada Gold Mines, Hecla Mining and many more.

Western Line Builders has over 50 years experience in building and maintaining high voltage and extra high voltage power line circuits. Projects we have worked on include new build or maintenance on substations, transmission and distribution lines, primary underground circuits, fiber optics, and low voltage street lighting. Our team of lineman have the rubber glove and hot stick experience needed to conduct complex tasks on energized lines. With over 100 years combined experience and a safety conscience attitude, our personnel are able to complete the most complex projects in a safe and reliable manner, meeting and exceeding customers’ satisfaction.

Western Line Builders has an accredited apprenticeship program that has trained countless journeyman linemen. We conduct year round technical and safety training held by certified trainers.
